How does it feel like?

It feels like a comfortable sleek silk blouse that gives you just perfect cover and comfortably dresses you in a fine style. It is pleasant and gentle.


How does it sound like?

It sounds like a bright baroque or early classicist melody.I like to listen to such music while driving. Then I feel absolutely free and relaxed.

How does it taste like?

Dates and omani tea which is sweet black tea with milk and a touch of cardamom.
Date is the national pride and treasure of Oman. I never really fancied dates. They have been a bit gooey and too sweet for me so far. But here I just can't stop eating it. You can taste various types from the solid honey taste and the multiple flavoured lesser sweet ones. It is wonderful to see how many ways it can be processed and served. There are confectioneries specialized in dipped and filled curiosities. Dates are processed into paste, date balls and numerous other forms. Once I talked to my husband's colleague about this unbearable heat during the summer months. But with one sentence he put it all into a different perspective for me when he added 'this fine heat helps the dates get ripe and sweet'. Absolutely true.
In this country tea is drunk with milk and sweet. On the school's International Day in the Omani tent they served this cardamom flavoured specialty as the mark of Omani hospitality. It revives mind body and soul.

How does it look like?

I can recall my first decisive impression of this place on earth. In November 2011 we came from Cairo for a short "come and see" trip in order to start getting around the city and make ourselves introduced at the schools we applied our kids. When we first eneterred the local delicatesse supermarket my jaws dropped and I felt like being in a dream world. Everything was neat and flawlessly clean. we marvelled at the appetizing meat products in the coolers and smelled the fragrant crispy home-style bread. I just could not believe it can be all true and be available here each and every day.

How does it smell like?

Oman's most well-known parfum is Amouage, a genuinely elegant and floral fragrance with the gentle hint of the 1001 nights. It reflects the Arab and Muslim traditions but it is all dressed up in a comfortable and state of the art attire.
